[Jagriti55] Preparation for Session #2 > Beliefs

Session #2 onwards for most sessions we will be sending a set of things to be done as a preparation for the session.
Also some of you missed the first session, do catch up on the recording before tomorrow's 2nd session. (Jagriti session playlist)
Please do the following activities before today's (Tuesday's) session.
Pl follow instructions precisely.

What are some of your beliefs about

  • How should students behave in a class?

  • How should teachers respond to children?

  • How should teachers interact with parents?

  • How children should respect personalities like Gandhiji

  • How should parents respond to teachers?

etc

Think of something for which you often say to yourself, "I can't ……… 

(This should be something that you wish you could do but have not been doing).


Once you have thought of this desirable I CAN'T

Think "How will it change me IF I COULD ….."

For a moment imagine you CAN … see how that makes you feel and what kinds of thoughts it brings … see if it makes you want… maybe even start planning for it... etc.

Choose whether you believe each statement to be True or False

  1. It is necessary to be serious and stern in the classroom.

  2. With some children punishment has to be used.

  3. It's only a few children in every class who are outstanding and who learn fast.

  4. Maths is a difficult subject.

  5. World is a competitive place.

  6. If a child has not scored well that means that he has not understood or studied the topic.

  7. If a child asks a question, we should tell the answer.

  8. Some children do not want to study; they just want to play.

  9. Children learn well by having marks to strive for.

  10. We ought to tell children what we think is important to know.
