[Jagriti55] Are You Too a Mad Parent?

There was a madman who would, whole day, stand at the road crossing and tell every passerby - "this way to village xyz". He was called a madman because most people already knew the way or would figure it out or did not need to know the way. Also even if people wanted to know the way - they would ASK - one doesn't need to give unsolicited directions.

The more I think about this madman - the more I realise that I too am mad. 

Especially with children, we all seem to be mad-parents.  😠  
We keep giving children directions when they either already know it, or they can figure it out or they don't need it or they will ask if they need it.

How will it be if I communicated to my children:

• I know, but my knowing is primarily for me.
• You have your knowing and you decide what you want to know and what you don't want to know.
• If you don't know - you can stay with your don't know.
• If you need to know you can either figure it out or ask me (I am available).

Or I can continue being a mad-parent.
