[Jagriti55] Preparation for Session #14 > Facilitation

Session #14 - Facilitation

1. What you think is the difference between Teacher and Facilitator

2.

Think what kind of facilitation do you normally do when
  1. Child is doing his or her work quietly and with full involvement
  2. Child is doing … but asking for a lot of help
  3. Child is doing but shabbily because of (say no interest or finds it too difficult or … )
  4. Child is not doing.

3.

For this session keep about 10-12 random objects near to you - these could be a pen, a watch, a box, a comb, a potato - we will do something with these objects.
As you select each object, be aware of why you are picking that object.

4. Think, write down, discuss, how an IDEAL facilitator will respond in these situations:

a) Child has eaten up the whole cake without leaving any for others
b) Instead of doing the (class) project on her own, she has got it done from her friend.
c) He has been pestering you to buy a new cycle while he has a reasonably okay cycle (atleast that is what you think).

d) Child makes a lot of spelling mistakes and resists every effort of your to improve on them.

e) Child wants to win/come first in everything and gets very upset and puts down others when he loses or is second.

f) Your teenage daughter has chosen to wear clothes which you think are too body-exposing for a friend's birthday party.

g) you can add more situations to this list.
